Machine translation and Google Translator Toolkit the topic at MultiLingual

MultiLingual is an information portal dealing with the fields of localization, translation, and the language technology industry. The eponymous magazine, also available in digital format, is the company’s flagship product. The news available on the company’s website is updated almost daily.

Two new articles on the MultiLingual website deal with machine translation. The author, Manal Amin, of the first article (The challenges of Arabic MT) elaborates with great detail on the difficulties of machine translation in the Arab language. Several good examples and their evaluations are also included for the benefit of the reader.

The other article dealing with a similar topic assesses the Google Translator Toolkit product, which has already been introduced on these pages. The authors include the benefits and disadvantages of the Toolkit when it is used as an aid for the translator.
